Mitch Albom relaunched the Rappaport Center speaker series in Stuart with an hourlong talk that explored the Holocaust, Haiti and the human tendency to lie, while ultimately delivering a message of hope and forgiveness. Focusing on his novel The Little Liar, Albom described a young Greek boy tricked into helping Nazis, using the story to examine truth, guilt and redemption in today’s world. Despite the heavy themes, Albom left the audience uplifted, reminding them that “hope is the sliver of light that creeps under the prison door.”
